WHAT: Volunteers will travel by boat from Riverside Park Boat Ramp to Green Island Recreation Area. At Green Island, we’ll set out cutting down invasive Eastern Red Cedar saplings using loppers and shears, promoting biodiversity and helping other native plants thrive! Cutting down the saplings can be strenuous and involves frequent bending.
WHO CAN VOLUNTEER: All ages are welcome! Anyone under 15 will need a parent/guardian present.
WHAT TO BRING: Yourself, water, sunscreen, and insect repellant. Please wear sturdy close-toed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. All other tools and protective gear will be provided.
If anyone under the age of 18 plans to volunteer, please email hannah_ringquist@partner.nps.gov to register
